Recurrences of toe nail fungus

In spite of repeated attempts to eradicate the toe nail fungus, unfortunately, for some groups, the infection tends to recur time and again. Many remedies, counter remedies and home remedies fight to cure the infection permanently, but due to some reasons, they tend to re inhabit the affected region once again.

Some of the common home remedy includes the surface application of the topical ointments and polishes to the affected area. This application, no doubt can kill the fungus restricted to that area only. In some cases when the infection is severe, the fungus tends to occupy and colonise the lower area of the nail surface or the nail bed. Topical application of the ointments kills only the surface fungi but not the fungi inhabitant on the nail bed. When favourable condition occurs, they tend to reappear.

The fungal infection can be easily spread to the neighbouring areas very quickly. As said, earlier, since the surface application can kill the fungus only pertinent to that area. When the neighbouring area is also affected, the fungus gets swiped away from the original area but re-grows in the new infected area.

In some severe cases, when the fungus can get mixed with the blood stream. While the surface has been cleared with the fugal attack the area gets re infected owing to the prevalence of the fungus in the blood. The fungus some how escapes the white blood cell attack in the blood and reaches the surface of the skin at the right time.

There are chances that the various remedial measures can attack just the vegetative part of the fungus. Still a larger portion of the fungus resides in the spore form. These are the stores for future infection. Although the mother cells are destroyed by the anti fungal agents, the spores tend to germinate at the right time when the antifungal concentration level is minimal or almost zero.

The damp and moist area is the most suitable area for fungal germination. Some times, wearing tight shoes or unclean shoes with a lot of perspiration can be the ideal place for the fungal growth. By avoiding these types of areas, and consistent and continuous medications can effectively kill the pest in a due course. The remedy can not happen over night but will take some time to cure. Patience is the key word to fight the infection.

Further, taking the antibiotics like limicide which mixes up with the blood stream can also kill the fungus in the blood. But before taking the pills, it is advisable to contact the medical practitioner for the dosage amount and the time period of the drug administration. Unfortunately, for some using these pills that destroys the fungus can give raise to side effects like nausea, vomiting and head aches.

The best way to completely eradicate the infection is self Cleanliness and the cleanliness of the surroundings. Another way through which the fungus can reoccur is by sharing the same sandals with the infected persons. The fungi now can spread easily from one foot to the other.
