Essential Oils Can Be Used to Cure Toenail Fungus

Slowly but steadily, people believe that modern medicines work great but they are to not to be given priority. Using chemicals may turn into complications and therefore, natural ways are considered as safer though effective way to tackle various health ailments.

Toenail fungus is the infection of the fungus that has entered in or around the skin tissues of the nail. Those two essential oils include Tea Tree Oil and Oregano Oil.

The Tea tree oil is an extract taken out of the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia, which is an Australian plant. The oil is considered as powerful anti-fungal agent and it is also potent antiseptic solution being used in several infection of the human body especially skin ones. There are several scientific studies that support its antiseptic and anti-fungal actions.

In a same way, Oregano oil is also one of the most effective natural remedy for treating various skin infection including toenail fungus infection. Oregano oil is said to be powerful fungicidal and hence, it is still in the practice to treat various fungal infection of the body especially the toenail fungus infection. Again, just like Tea tree oil, Oregano oil also possesses antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-parasitical and antiviral actions. One of the most favorable properties the oil offers is it reduces the pain and inflammation.

Another essential oil in practice curing toenail fungus is lavender oil. Essential lavender oil carries important healing properties especially for skin. Lavender’s essential oil works wonderfully when it is used with Tea tree’s essential oil. Swabbing a combination of half Tea tree essential oil and half Lavender essential oil under top edge and around affected toenail twice or thrice a day is very effective healing the discolored nail. One can use cotton-ball for the same.

Apart from Oregano, Lavender and Tea tree oil, there is one more essential oil now drawing everybody’s attention treating various skin conditions including toenail fungus – the olive oil. Olive oil is best to consume and also to apply. Olive oil works best when mixed with Oregano essential oil. The mixture of those two oils is applied onto the affected area for about two weeks and not more than that. It penetrates deep into the nail and removes the fungal infection if used regularly.
